Last week was the annual Ladies Day at Musselburgh Racecourse where all the minxy women come out to play! Jenners Edinburgh sponsored the event and had a fashion show.
I was offered the chance to helped assist with the styling. This is something which I have done many times before however this was a different approach. Instead of models we had a professional dance group called Fierce Pro Dance group. They were fantastic to work with – professional, fun and skilled. This made the shows more interesting for people and attention grabbing. When I have ever helped assist at a fashion event there is normal themes and storeys which we create/follow e.g summer holiday, Sex and the City or wedding this time we decided on making the outfits high visual impact but with summer trends within. This is due to the nature of the races as it is not a sit down fashion show over 8,000 people were there and having fun and constantly moving about meaning it had to catch people’s eye when walking around.
Each dancer/model had two outfits each a casual and formal look, something which you would wear to the races. Instead of one show we did it in 4 15min slots so that we could reach a high volume of people.
I also helped in spotting out in the crowds finding the best dressed competitions for the Queen of Style, King of Style (I was picked by Grant Stott liked what I was wearing, so as I don’t like to let people down I happily got up on stage!) and Best Hat.
Yet another thing to add to my growing C.V a fab day out and met some great people it’s all in the networking...
The peace before the storm running order of outfits in our own tent
Preparing – making sure everyone knew there outfits and getting ready for the first show
