Old Town

I have been doing some research into boutiques for the place I am currently interning at and was extremely pleased to find this brand Old Town. Based in Norfolk they specialise in making British clothing that is influenced by past costume and workwear dating back to 1910, but making it more practical in present day. Looking at the images they have a strong nostalgic feel. Producing 50 garments a week using British fabrics and trimmings each item is individually cut for each customer. The best thing that I admire about is they are bringing back manufacturing to the UK something that is extremely important to me at the moment – in this time of economic difficulty Old Town even though not producing on a mass scale is bringing growth to the fashion industry supporting British mills & creating skilled jobs. Despite the product not being on the cutting edge of fashion it is symbolizes & teaching the customer the importance if buying British instead of the quick fix.
