Design and Produce Fashion Garments Advanced

This is my final two garments which I needed to make as part of my course this year – a tailored jacket and skirt. My brand was Kookai for the more mature market aged 50+. The name of my brief was “The Golden Age of Fashion”. I love my final creations as during the course I made alterations to the design and put a lot of myself into it. The jacket was more technical for the construction as I have never made anything like this before. The skirt on the other hand was much more fun and creative as we had more free rein on what we could do.

Creative Industries Fashion Show

Me and Hannah

Gray Psycho Shirt and Tartan Dress
Maison de Moodie

What a week it has been! Last Thursday night was the Creative Industries exhibition at Adam Smith College showcasing HNC/D to Degree work from Visual Communication, Graphic Design, Furniture, Art and Design, Theatre Arts and Fashion.

I was asked if I would be happy to host and present work from HNC/D work from Fashion: Design and Manufacture and Fashion: Design and Production with Retail, never to let a little presenting to a miss I was more than happy to help out.

Watch out me and Hannah will be on the T.V hosting the Brits and Oscars soon

Not only did I present with my good friend Hannah, who is also in my course, I also helped with the Music Direction – choosing music which was high fashion and dramatic. It worked out brilliantly as the auditorium is massive it bounced off the walls.

There were two 15min slots of the fashion show as it was not only a fashion event but showcasing other courses great work.

Amazing and fun experience to finish off our 2years at college – I was wearing one of my own designs (Maison de Moodie) the Gray Psycho Shirt and Hannah was more than happy to wear one of my dresses looking like a Westwood model the wee minx.

A cheeky little video of part 1, with one of the tracks which I choose

Part 2

Here is a link to all the photos from the evening please look they are brilliant
