Corset - Inspiration of the Day

A garment which changes the body’s proportions, in this case dramatically. Women wore them as they gave the idiotic silhouette from the 17th, 18th and 19th Century. Coming out of fashion from 1910s onwards they were soon reinvented by Christian Dior in the 1940s for the “New Look” from past war where women helped in the war effort and after women wanted to be like women again. The look brought the waist in, A-Line skirts and structured tops became the symbol of femininity and carried its way through the 1950s.

Extreme hourglass silhouette shape as the waist is not as in proportion in comparison to the hips and shoulders yet has a element of beauty. The neck corset which looks to have exaggerated the length looks somewhat sophisticated but a notion on S&M/Dominatrix in comparison to the images components looking very 1940s with the styling, model and location.
